Artist Statement
I am an abstract landscape artist making luminous paintings that act as both beautiful, multi-layered works of art and invitations to a spiritual place of rest. I create fluid, contemplative paintings which both uplift and intrigue
I find that the physical act of making art connects me with the landscape and sensations around me. At the same time, it opens up expression of my inner, spiritual landscape and this becomes one with the outer form of the earth, sea and sky around me.
I paint and draw intuitively, both from sketches made in the landscape and my responses to direct experience of landscape and what the paint or pencil are doing on the paper. I then refine and compose as the work reveals itself.

About me
I grew up in Cornwall in the UK and returned to live here in 2012. I work from a home studio near Redruth. I have always been creative but have only found the time to paint professionally in the past few years.
I am inspired by Celtic spirituality and how this informs our understanding of nature and ourselves as a connected whole. I believe art can communicate this and act as both a beautiful object and a portal to a spiritual place.
